Located right on Route 4, it is a great place to park if you have all your gear ready to go. Skyeship Lodge is a unique opportunity to avoid crowds. If you want to hit the terrain park, Ramshead is where you'll find the Woodward Mountain Park. This is where you'll find all ski schools the snowshed double and showshed express quad will take you to the largest set of runs devoted to beginners. If you are driving south on US-4, these will be the first base areas you'll hit. Ramshead Lodge and Snowshed Lodge are both near each other on the north side of the area. If you are traveling north on VT-100, this is the quickest way to get your day started, but is usually less crowded than Ramshead and Showshed.
Bear Mountain is the furthest south base area and has the most varied terrain of any base area. The mountain has five base areas, all of which work to start your day on the mountain.
The Wobbly Barn has been open since 1973, and it is one of the best places to grab a steak – and then dance the night away in the dance club. The Lookout Tavern is a chill sports bar with hearty apps and mains, and a decent selection of wine, spirits and wine. Casey’s Caboose serves up lots of locally sourced foods, including burgers and cheese plates. The Garlic is an upscale Italian restaurant known for its martini and wine menu – the perfect place to unwind after a day on the slopes. Open until late afternoon, you can indulge in your sweet tooth. If you’re like many people and love breakfast all day long, then Waffle Cabin is for you. You can get everything from a vegetarian wrap to a rib-splitting burger. If you’re already on the mountain, stop by Killington Peak Lodge, which offers farm-fresh food and daily specials. Besides the delightful artwork, you can great a tasty beverage and a breakfast sandwich. If you like your breakfast in a gallery, then you must stop by Liquid Art Coffeehouse & Eatery. Back Country Cafe is a great spot to grab a hearty breakfast on the way to the slopes.
